As bodybuilders know eating a lot of protein can put a lot of stress on your kidneys and make them work harder. There are other varieties of issues that can cause damage to your kidneys:

Overusing Painkillers

Too much sodium

Not drinking enough water

Not getting enough sleep

Eating too much meat

Eating too much sugar

Smoking

Drinking too much alcohol

Too much sitting

There are things you can do to help prevent damaging your kidneys. Some of them are obvious opposites to some of the above problems such as drinking more water. The best starting case would be to start drink one-half ounce of water for every pound you weight. This will make your kidneys strong.

Another way to help out the kidneys is to take probiotics. Taking good bacteria help the digestive process more efficient. It will improve your gut by processing waste while improving quality of life.

One way to save your kidneys that many are unfamiliar with is by lowering your phosphorus intake. There are a ton of foods that have phosphorus in it but many don’t think about such as in soft drinks that are carbonated. In taking too much can lead to heart disorders and bone disorders as well.

Trying to avoid anti-inflammatory and pain reliving drugs will also help your kidneys. These types of drugs can cause serious problems such as creating kidney cancer.

There are also benefits of taking bath in Epsom salt. The reason I first starting taking them was to help with the inflammation in my legs after training legs. I later found out that it was also helping remove toxins and waste while boosting my kidneys.

Lastly there are several foods that you can eat to help support your kidneys. Many berries will help such as cranberries, blueberries, strawberries. Several other foods include olive oil, onions, Garlic, peppers, cabbage, cauliflower and apples.
